Dr. Nilza Kallos founded in 1981 the Breast Health Center & Diagnostic Ultrasound, the first multi-modality breast center in Florida. She was born in Brazil, where she completed her undergraduate studies. She received her M.D. degree at The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1970.
Dr. Kallos is board certified in Nuclear Medicine and a certified menopausal clinician at Lennar Foundation Medical Center in Miami, Florida. She is a Diplomat of the American College of Radiology, a member of the Radiologic Society of North America, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Society of Breast Disease, and the Society of Breast Imaging, to name a few.
She co-founded the not-for-profit Within, Inc. (1999-2006), a holistic wellness center for the enhancement of women’s health and self-esteem. She frequently lectures on women’s health issues in the United States as well as in Latin America. She has published and/or co-authored many scientific papers. In 2007 she received the HeartShip Award from the YWCA and in 2008 she is honored as a Woman of Vision by the Weizmann Institute of Science and recognized as a SUPER DOCTOR by Baptist Health of South Florida.
She connects on a personal level with her patients, some of whom have been coming to her for 30 years, and who not only entrust themselves to her care but also show love and loyalty to her.
