Making Your Body Less Conducive To Cancer: Innovative Movement and Restorative Strategies to Optimize Outcomes:

Movement as a restorative strategy for both improvement in quality of life and outcomes has long been recognized as beneficial for prevention and survivorship as it relates to cancer. In the same way, the neuroscience of sleep and the avoidance of key toxins have revolutionized the integrative approach to wellness. The functional medicine model incorporates these components with an emphasis on mindfulness-based interventions to empower patients to take charge of their health based on evidence, combining our conventional state-of-the-art therapies with a return to successfully implementing critical lifestyle changes.

About Dr. Niraj Mehta

Dr. Mehta, board-certified radiation oncologist, specializes in individualized holistic patient care, highlighting the integration of state-of-the-art conventional therapies with evidence-based complementary health strategies, detailing programs for nutrition, exercise, stress relief, survivorship and multidisciplinary healing (including yoga, meditation, acupuncture, movement and music therapy).

Currently, he is launching Integrative Oncology Essentials in the South Miami region in an effort to address evidence-based contemporary lifestyle changes and psychosocial stressors. As a professional dancer/choreographer, he also runs a Movement program in South Miami, designed to actively engage survivors, loved ones and caretakers with mind-body approach. He also teaches Bollywood Fusion classes in Miami at the House of Movement.
